My first academic conference #mlearn2011

This week I'm at my first academic conference as a Ph.D. student. I had been to a couple of conferences in my undergrad, but that was about 20 years ago and I was just a volunteer. I'm in Beijing at mLearn2011 (10th World Conference on Mobile and Contextual Learning). I'm co-presenting a paper on Wednesday morning, and presenting a poster on Thursday afternoon.

My trip here was exhausting, and I've now discovered that I can't access Facebook or Twitter, so I have no way to contact the gals from the UK (whose names I don't know, but I have their twitter names), who I was going to have dinner with one night.

I have found a work-around sort of – in that my mobile tumblr blog cross posts, so I'll be posting a few things directed at the twitter croud via Tumblr. If you want to follow my trip in bite size mobile updates, you can see my Tumblr blog at: http://rjhmo.tumblr.com. Hopefully the conference site has wifi!
